Private Patrick O'Brien

 

The background of this man is not known at present.

Patrick O'Brien enlisted at Dublin on 11 December 1916. He was described as being 5' 7" tall, having a dark complexion, brown hair and brown eyes. He stated that he was 24 years old, was born in Forrest, Dublin, and worked as a blacksmith.

Between 23 and 29 June 1917 he was posted to the North Irish Horse (regimental number 2560). He was reported to have deserted from the regiment's reserve base at Antrim 30 June 1917. It is not known if he subsequentially returned to duty or was apprehended.
